Whether you are looking for a puppy or already own a puppy, it is highly recommended that you realize the importance of enrolling your puppy in a puppy development program. Puppies are highly impressionable and the early weeks and months of a puppies life are critical times. An experience, whether positive or negative, can leave a lasting impression on a puppy.
We offer a Puppy Development Program that educates the owner on how they can a the development of the puppy. During puppy development, owners will learn the needs of the puppy, how to communicate effectively, curb behavior problems, socialization exercises, handling exercises, confidence building exercises, grooming, and first aid topics. Clients will receive information about house training, chewing, toy/food possessiveness, play biting and object socialization.
Our Puppy Development Program was established to help you and your best friend get off to a great start. It is designed to teach owners to better understand their puppy's mind, establish effective communication, how to properly socialize, and how to curb behavior problems
Puppy owners will learn how they can influence and shape the behaviors of their growing puppy. Puppy training begins the moment you bring your new puppy home. Whether or not you are enrolled in formal training, you are still directing behuvior and establishing patterns in your dog's life. By not teaching or setting limits your puppy understands, you are possibly encouraging the behavior problems that will come in the future. The PDP places a heavy emphasis on setting boundaries that your puppy can understand and on proper socialization to assist your puppy with adjusting to your lifestyle. The program is designed for each individual puppy. The small or private class, allow you the one-on-one opportunity to ask questions that apply specifically to your puppy. We look forward to assisting you in raising a well-mannered family companion.
Weekly Puppy Development Sessions - Basic Problem Solving
The small, weekly PDP sessions allow for personalized attention. Every owner will be given a chance to ask questions to be addressed. Through the guidance of a professional trainer and the participation of other puppy owners, you will learn a great deal about socialization, confidence building, proper handling, basic problem solving, and other educational topics. During each weekly session, a professional trainer will continually assist you in solving behavior problems and answering your questions. You will receive useful information on I house training, chewing, food/toy possessiveness, and play biting. You will also receive specific information to help you learn how to guide your pet's development in order to prevent future problem behaviors.
Proper Socialization
During your weekly sessions you will learn how to begin the process that is critical to the positive social development of your puppy. We show you how to socialize your puppy effectively around people of various ages, back grounds, and sizes. During this period of the puppy's life it is imperative to introduce new people and dogs properly, to prevent the development of permanent fear or aggression towards people or other dogs.

Confidence Building
At puppy preschool you will also learn confidence-building techniques to help your puppy attain a positive attitude. Using proper skills, we will help your puppy overcome its initial fears. Our weekly confidence building exercises will help to further establish the critical communication and trust that is necessary for a well-mannered family pet. You will be taught proper introduction techniques for items such as vacuum cleaners, noise making items, varied surfaces, and more.
Puppy Age Requirements
It is crucial that you begin an educational program with your puppy at an early age. Between the ages of 7 and 16 weeks, puppies begin to form attitudes and opinions that will last a lifetime. It is during this period that most puppies can develop up to 90 percent of their attitudes toward people, other animals, their environment, and objects in their environment.
Puppy Development Program Cost
For $400 you will receive four individual private sessions or you may send your pup to us and let us do all the work for $1,800. The puppy residency program is two weeks in length but extra weeks can be added on. Upon completion of the PDP, your dog will be better prepared to participate in formal obedience training.
Owner Educational Topics
We will discuss a variety of owner - educational topics each week that will help you raise a happier and healthier pet. During these discussions you will learn the basics in dog care, including setting up a pet first aid kit and the introduction of basic grooming practices such as nail trimming, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, coat brushing, and more.
